Communications & Public Affairs Officer
£30,000

Over the past several years, we have built up a positive reputation through our media and parliamentary work. We are now seeking a self-starting Communications and Public Affairs Officer to develop our status even further and additionally to raise our profile amongst current and potential supporters.

This role will suit a highly motivated and ambitious communications professional with experience serving as a media spokesperson as well as working behind the scenes with journalists, politicians, and charitable organisations. You’ll be a great communicator and will develop and initiate new relationships to promote our messages and support the work of Migrants Resource Centre.  You’ll be a dynamic team player, self-motivated and with excellent organisational skills, capable of multi-tasking and meeting deadlines.

Integration & Community Development Manager
£37,000-40,000

This role will suit a highly motivated programme manager with experience delivering a range of community development programmes including adult education, employability skills development, and health & wellness promotion.

Reporting to the Chief Executive and serving as a member of the Management Team, you will be responsible for the delivery of a range of service designed to support migrants and refugees to integrate into British society and build new lives. You will develop new programmes and projects, working closely with the fundraising team to raise funds for them. And you will contribute to the strategic planning for the organisation as well as to policy work relevant to integration and community development.

Senior Asylum Caseworker LGBT Specialist
£30,000

We are looking for a caseworker to focus on LGBT asylum seekers.

You will be a self-starter and need to demonstrate a minimum of 2 years’ experience of providing advice and representation services to asylum seekers with at least 1 year of experience of working within the framework of a LAA Contract.

You will possess a good knowledge of the issues faced by LGBT asylum seekers; having already gained casework experience in this area.

Receptionist

MRC is seeking to recruit a receptionist to assist with general administrative duties and data entry, as well as answering the telephone and greeting members of the public who come from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures.

You will have good oral and written communications skills in English and will be able to speak a community language (e.g. Turkish, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese, etc.).

Administrator
£24,000

You will be responsible for all financial administration, including dealing with all invoices, electronic payments, petty cash, and liaising with our accountants and book keepers.

You will also oversee the ordering of all supplies and the maintenance of office equipment, including telephones, copiers & printers, and computers, liaising with external suppliers and contractors where necessary.

Along with our receptionists, you will be the first point of contact for telephone callers, clients, and other visitors to the office. This includes ensuring that our offices are a safe and welcoming environment for our clients, many of whom have experienced trauma and persecution.

Volunteers

Asylum Aid currently has volunteer placement opportunities providing support in our legal team and in our support services team. The following opportunities are available:

  • Legal Administration Volunteer
  • Admin & Reception Volunteer

Volunteers have been supporting the work of Asylum Aid since its beginnings. The vital work of volunteers enables our life saving work of protecting women, men and children from torture to continue.
