Wayne Myslik
Chief Executive

Wayne joined Asylum Aid as Chief Executive in March 2013, after fifteen years working in senior positions in the charity and private sectors in the UK and Africa. Wayne is a qualified demographer with extensive experience in migration studies.  He has lectured in demography, geography and sociology at the University of Cape Town (RSA), University of Western Cape (RSA), University of Natal (RSA), Syracuse University (USA) and University College (USA). A specialist in strategic planning and organisational change, Wayne has led management consulting firms in the UK and South Africa, where he advised numerous multinational corporations. Before joining Asylum Aid, Wayne held senior management and Board level roles at several international NGOs including Oxfam GB and Panos London. He is currently a Trustee of Zurich Community Trust.

Debora Singer MBE 
Policy & Research Manager

Debora started work as Manager of the Women’s Project in 2004, and has managed all our policy and research work since 2009. She previously worked at Victim Support, and in 2012 was awarded an MBE for her work on the rights of women.






Cynthia Orchard
Legal Policy Officer

Cynthia joined Asylum Aid in 2016. She has previously worked with UNHCR (London), REDRESS, BADIL (the Resource Center for Palestinian Residency and Refugee Rights), Oxford’s Refugee Studies Centre, and several other NGOs, including  as a legal representative with the Immigration Advisory Service in London for several years. Cynthia is qualified as a lawyer (Virginia, 2002) and was accredited with the OISC (Level 2, 2005-2008), and she completed a Master of Studies degree in International Human Rights Law at Oxford in 2014. Her work at Asylum Aid focuses mainly on statelessness and LGBTI issues.







Ciaran Price 
Communications and Public Affairs Officer

Ciaran joined the team in early 2017 having previously worked in policy positions with in the UK voluntary sector. His background is in international relations and public policy and has previously worked for migrant and community development projects in the UK, Ireland and Rwanda.

Maria Gonzalez Dardagan 

Maria joined Asylum Aid as Fundraiser in 2006. Before that she was Coordinator of a migrant organisation doing community development work and campaigning for worker’s rights.

Adrian van Schalkwyk 
Operations Manager

Adrian joined Asylum Aid in 2015. He has extensive experience as an Operations and Financial Manager in the charity, not for profit and private sectors. He has project managed the successful delivery of a number of large European Funded Projects over a wide geographic area, ensuring that all committed project outputs were achieved within budget. He has experience in the fields of both Human Resources and IT. He has experience in the operation of UK and European funding streams and has been a SFEDI qualified business advisor. He also has credit lending and credit control experience gained with a major banking group. He is passionate about helping others and assisting in developing to their fullest capacity.

Ian Kane 
Legal Services Manager

Ian joined Asylum Aid in 2014 from Brent Community Law Centre, where he was Director. Before that, he was Regional Manager at Refugee and Migrant Justice. With over seventeen years of experience representing asylum seekers and refugees, Ian is a passionate and skilled caseworker and manager with a commitment to supporting vulnerable clients.







Sandi Kudhail 
Supervising Solicitor

Sandi joined Asylum Aid from O’Keeffe’s Solicitors in 2010, and has more than ten years experience working as a solicitor-advocate.  She works on a range of asylum issues, and has developed specialisms working with victims of trafficking and domestic violence.

Louise Streeter 

Louise joined Asylum Aid in July 2014 from private practice. She qualified as a solicitor in July 2009 and has been working in Immigration since 2008. Louise trained in Immigration, Public Law and Community Care. Louise has particular expertise in assisting vulnerable clients and a passion for assisting victims of trafficking.

Rebecca Flint
Children’s Solicitor

Rebecca is the children’s solicitor at Asylum Aid, joining the team in 2014 from Elder Rahimi, where she trained and qualified as a solicitor. Previous to converting to law in 2009, Rebecca managed the Outreach Team at the Poppy Project and has specialist knowledge in trafficking issues.

Huw Eliot 
Senior Caseworker

Huw joined Asylum Aid in 2014 after gaining asylum and immigration experience at a number of private firms in Wales, including working for the pro bono legal charity Asylum Justice. Huw leads Asylum Aid’s outreach and triage services, including our Advice Line.

Eliza Drake
Legal Assistant

Eliza joined Asylum Aid in 2016, having previously worked as a paralegal at North Kensington Law Centre (in Immigration and Asylum) and at Freshfields Bruckhaus and Deringer (in Dispute Resolution). Eliza also volunteered for several years as a paralegal and legal caseworker at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre in Australia.
