Mapping Statelessness
During 2010 and 2011, Asylum Aid and the UN Refugee Agency conducted detailed, groundbreaking research into the number, profile and situation of stateless people in the UK.
The report, Mapping Statelessness in the UK, found that stateless people in the UK live at daily risk of human rights infringements. We spoke with people who - with no right to remain in the UK but with no nationality or right to reside in any other country - were homeless, destitute, and had sometimes been detained for many months.

You can read coverage of the research from Reuters and on Migration Pulse. In the meantime, dialogue with Government continues, to try and ensure procedures are in place to identify and help stateless people in the UK at the earliest opportunity.
