Are you a woman seeking asylum in the UK? 

In 2007, the Women's Project at Asylum Aid produced a leaflet for newly-arrived asylum seeking women.  It explained the Home Office policy for deciding women’s asylum claims. 

Since their publication, the policies in place for women seeking asylum have improved - partly as a result of lobbying by Asylum Aid and others.  Therefore the information included here is for guidance only, and women seeking asylum should clarify any questions with a legal advisor.
